Who am I?

Past

Kwame Perry was born and raised in Houston, Texas, the son of a welder and a nursing assistant who taught him the value of hard work and instilled in him the importance of community, respect, and responsibility.

As a young man, Kwame spent his summers teaching martial arts, math, and chess to children at the Sehah Community Center. After college, he began a successful career in IT. Over 25 years in the corporate world, Kwame has worked across several industries, building strong professional relationships and working with people from all backgrounds and walks of life.

Present

More than ten years ago, Kwame met his wife, Felicia. A few years later, they moved to Washington, DC, where they purchased a home in the Fairlawn neighborhood of Ward 8 and built their life together with their two rescue dogs.

Kwame has grown deeply connected to his neighborhood and the people who call it home. He sees the strength and potential of his community and believes that making it stronger starts with listening, showing up, and working together.

Future

As ANC Commissioner for ANC 8A01, Kwame plans to continue connecting with and learning from his neighbors, supporting and serving as a role model for young people, and physically rolling up his sleeves to help make the community safer, cleaner, and more beautiful.

As a voice and advocate for ANC 8A01, Kwame is committed to keeping the needs of his neighbors at the forefront, bringing resources and opportunities to the community, and making sure residents are heard and represented.

Let's be the change we want in our community!
